On our inaugural trip, I am proud to say we did just that!

We took 9 children on a planting activity at Union Market, a popular Washington DC food market. Not only did the children learn about healthy foods, they also had the opportunity to plant an herb garden.

After the planting activity, parents and community volunteers delivered an hour long one-on-one tutoring session for each child.

We couldn’t have done it without community support. We would also like to give an additional thank you to Union Market for leading the planting activity and donating lunch. Thanks to the support from our community, there are children who were reminded that the more they learn–the more they can claim their space in the world.
